Ein Ultrabook für nur 350 Euro? Trekstor bietet mit seinem Primebook genau das – und macht dabei einen überraschend guten Job. Wo die Stärken und die Schwächen des günstigen Notebooks liegen, zeigen wir Euch im Test.

Trekstor Primebook P14: Design und Verarbeitung Die Definition eines Ultrabooks ist ein möglichst dünner und leichter Laptop mit ordentlicher Akkulaufzeit, guter Leistung und Intel-Prozessor. In der Regel liegen solche Geräte in der Preislage um die 1000 Euro und aufwärts, das Trekstore Primebook hingegen bekommt man schon ab 350 Euro. Optisch und haptisch merkt man dies dem Laptop schon mal nicht an: Das Aluminium-Gehäuse wirkt edel, ist gut verarbeitet und für ein 14-Zoll-Gerät verhältnismäßig kompakt und leicht. Die Abmessungen betragen 332 × 220 × 14,7 Millimeter bei einem Gewicht von knapp 1400 Gramm.

Das Primebook hat unter anderem zwei USB-3.1-Anschlüsse und einen USB-Typ-C-Port. Links sitzen ein USB-Typ-C-Anschluss, ein Micro-HDMI-Ausgang und ein USB-3.1-Port. Zum Aufladen kommt leider nicht USB-C zum Einsatz, dafür gibt es ein Netzteil mit proprietärem Stecker, das auf der rechten Seite eingestöpselt wird. Links vom Anschluss für das Netzteil finden sich ein microSD-Kartenslot, ein weiterer USB-3.1-Anschluss und außerdem noch ein Kopfhörerausgang.

Das Display lässt sich weit nach hinten neigen, die Stereo-Lautsprecher scheint der Hersteller irgendwo zwischen Gehäuse und Bildschirmscharnier untergebracht zu haben. Zumindest finden sich nirgendwo sichtbare Speaker-Öffnungen und der Sound tönt aus Richtung der Verbindung zwischen Display und Laptop-Unterteil. Unten sind vier rutschfeste Gummifüße angebracht, außerdem gibt es dort einen leicht zugänglichen Erweiterungsslot für ein M.2-SSD-Modul. Was Optik und Haptik angeht, kann das Primebook von Trekstore bei uns schon mal punkten: Wer den Preis des Laptops nicht kennt, der würde wohl eher auf 1000 als auf 350 Euro tippen.

Trekstor Primebook P14: Ausstattung Das Primebook gibt es in Varianten mit Pentium-N4200-Prozessor und mit Celeron-N3350-Prozessor, außerdem kann der Käufer auf Wunsch zum Standardspeicher von 64 GByte eine zusätzliche SSD mit Kapazitäten von 64, 128 oder 256 GByte gleich mitbestellen. Dementsprechend teurer ist das Laptop dann. Wir hatten das Primebook P14 mit Pentium-N4200-Prozessor im Test, dessen aktueller Straßenpreis 380 Euro beträgt. Die Celeron-Variante gibt es schon ab 350 Euro. An Arbeitsspeicher gibt es beim Primebook 4 GByte.

Im WLAN funkt das Primebook nach 802.11 b, g, n und ac im 2,4-GHz- und 5-GHz-Frequenzband, zur Verbindung mit anderen Geräten gibt es Bluetooth in Version 4.2. Zur weiteren Ausstattung gehören ein 5500-mAh-Akku mit einer Spannung von 7,6 Volt und ein Fingerabdrucksensor, der im Touchpad untergebracht ist.

Das 14,1 Zoll große Display löst Full-HD, also 1920 × 1080 Pixel, auf. Die Darstellung ist dementsprechend in Sachen Schärfe absolut zufriedenstellend und auch die Farbwiedergabe des IPS-Panels gefällt uns. Allerdings hat Weiß einen leicht gräulichen Touch und die Helligkeit des Bildschirms dürfte einiges mehr an Reserven bieten.Oberhalb des Displays sitzt die 2 Megapixel auflösende Frontkamera, links und rechts flankiert von Dual-Mikros für Videotelefonie. Die Qualität der Kamera ist nicht besonders gut, genügt aber für Skype und Co.

Gemessen am günstigen Preis des Gerätes machen Touchpad und Tastatur einen guten Job. In Relation zum niedrigen Preis gefallen uns sowohl Touchpad als Keyboard des Primebook gut. Im Direktvergleich zu hochpreisigeren Laptops wirkt der zum Einsatz kommende Kunststoff zwar auf den ersten Blick etwas billig, dieser Eindruck relativierte sich im Testzeitraum jedoch - wohl vor allem, weil in der Praxis beides mehr als zufriedenstellend funktioniert.

Was das Touchpad angeht, reagiert dies nicht so präzise wie bei manchem teureren Konkurrenten, aber präzise genug, um auch beispielsweise Copy-and-Paste-Arbeiten komfortabel zu erledigen. Mit der Chiclet-Tastatur hingegen ließ es sich für uns sehr gut schreiben. Positiv fiel dabei auch auf, dass es keine Bereiche auf dem Keyboard gibt, wo es nachgibt. Der im Touchpad integrierte Fingerabdrucksensor konnte in unserem Test ebenfalls überzeugen, er reagierte zuverlässig und flott.

Was die Leistung des Primebook angeht, ist das Laptop als gutes Office-Gerät einzuordnen. Dass ein so günstiger Laptop sich nicht zum Spielen grafisch anspruchsvoller Games, für Videoschnitt oder Bildbearbeitung eignet, liegt eigentlich auf der Hand. Beim Surfen, Schreiben, Social-Networking, Videos schauen (auch in 4K-Auflösung kein Problem) macht das Primebook allerdings eine sehr gute Figur. Es schadet zwar nichts, wenn der Nutzer darauf achtet, dass nicht zu viele Anwendungen gleichzeitig laufen, aber in der Regel kommt das Gerät damit problemlos klar. Im PCMark 10 kommt das Primebook auf 1354 Punkte.

In Sachen Akkulaufzeit macht das Primebook einen guten Eindruck: Wir kamen auf bis zu acht Stunden bei niedrig eingestellter Helligkeit und niedrig eingestellter Akkueinstellungen. Die Lautsprecher klingen ganz ordentlich, wie meist bei Laptops kommt vom Bass in den tiefen Frequenzen allerdings nicht besonders viel rüber.

Auf dem Trekstor Primebook läuft Windows 10 Home inklusive eines 1-Jahres-Abonnements von Microsofts Office 365 Personal. Außerdem spendiert Trekstor dem Käufer die Backup-Software Acronis True Image 2018, allerdings nur als Testversion.
