Unserer Testmodell wurde leider mit amerikanischem Tastaturlayout geliefert, doch kaufen könnt Ihr das Aero 15 auch mit deutschem Layout. Zum Glück, denn die Tastatur fühlte sich beim Tippen erstaunlich gut an. Obwohl sie so flach ist, hat sie einen deutlichen Hub und einen klaren Druckpunkt. Gute Arbeit, Gigabyte! Die Tastatur ist top, beim Touchpad fehlen uns die Maustasten – oder zumindest gutes, haptisches Feedback beim Durchdrücken. Ihr müsst Euch nur daran gewöhnen, dass die 0 des Nummernblocks schmaler ist als üblich und die Tasten für „Pos 1“, „Ende“ und die Bildläufe auf den Zahlen liegen. Des Weiteren teilen sich Entfernen und Einfügen eine Taste.

Die Beleuchtung des Keyboards könnt Ihr per Software anpassen. Wahrscheinlich lag es nur an unserem Gerät, aber der Buchstabe „d“ kam beim längeren Tippen auffällig oft nicht durch.Das Touchpad ist angenehm in seiner Oberfläche: glatt, aber nicht zu glatt. Doch leider gibt es keine separaten Maustasten. Die haben uns beim Testen gefehlt, da das Klickpad doch recht viel Druck benötigt und es auch nur am unteren Rand deutlich spürbares haptisches Feedback gibt.

Gigabyte hat mit dem Aero 15 eins der besten Gaming-Notebooks auf dem Markt entworfen. Warum wir das sagen, obwohl andere Maschinen eine bessere technische Ausstattung und somit bessere Benchmark-Ergebnisse erreichen? Ja, Gigabyte geht Kompromisse ein, doch diese sind sehr gut gewählt. Unterm Strich bekommen wir ein kompaktes Gamer-Notebook, das trotzdem ein großes, fast randloses Display bietet, alle relevanten Anschlüsse zur Verfügung stellt, gut verarbeitet ist und darüber hinaus eine tolle Tastatur mitbringt. Dazu hat uns die Akkulaufzeit beeindruckt.

Außerdem lassen sich Arbeitsspeicher und Festplatten auch später noch upgraden, was wir ebenfalls positiv hervorheben möchten. Punkte, an denen wir rummeckern können, finden wir so gut wie keine. Lediglich die Geräuschentwicklung, das Touchpad und der doch recht hohe Preis von ca. 2000 Euro sind in unseren Augen verbesserbar.

Zur CES bringt Dell neue Latitude-Notebooks für Firmen auf den Markt. Dabei sind nicht nur die neuesten CPUs verbaut, das 14-Zoll-Modell Latitude 7490 bringt optional auch noch ein super-energiesparendes Display mit. Die Latitude-7000-Serie ist Dells teuerste Laptop-Serie für Firmen. Zusammen mit den günstigeren Latitudes der 5000-Serie bringt Dell zur CES neue Modelle dieser Premium-Notebooks auf den Markt.

Anders als bei der 5000-Serie legt Dell bei der 7000-Serie den Fokus auf Mobilität, dementsprechend gibt es kein 15-Zoll-Modell. Stattdessen gibt es die Latitude-7000-Serie in 12-, 13 und 14-Zoll, die neuen Modelle tragen die Modellnummer Latitude 7290, Latitude 7390 und Latitude 7490.

Von einer grundsätzlichen Überarbeitung des Gehäuses sieht Dell dabei in diesem Jahr ab, sodass die neuen Latitudes äußerlich praktisch identisch mit den älteren Modellen sind. Wie ihre Vorgänger Latitude 7280 und Latitude 7480 sind die 12- und 14-Zoll-Modelle eher die klassischen Business-Notebooks, während das Latitude 7390 vielmehr einem XPS 13 für Firmen entspricht, was man auch direkt an den sehr dünnen Displayrändern erkennt. Trotz der dünnen und leichten Gehäuse verbaut Dell weiterhin große 60-Wattstunden-Akkus und Ethernet-Anschlüsse ohne Dongle-Zwang.

Alle drei neuen Latitudes kommen selbstverständlich mit den neuesten Intel-Core-i-CPUs auf den Markt wie dem Core i5-8350U oder Core i7-8550U, auch wenn Dell die älteren Prozessoren mit zwei Kernen weiterhin optional anbietet.

Davon abgesehen halten sich die Änderungen im Vergleich zu den direkten Vorgängern in Grenzen. Beim größten Notebook der 7000-Serie, dem Latitude 7490, wird Dell im Frühjahr optional einen "Super-Low-Power"-Bildschirm anbieten, der laut Dell 50 % weniger Energie verbrauchen soll als ein herkömmlicher IPS-LCD mit Full-HD-Auflösung (1.920 x 1.080). So soll das Notebook bis zu 20 Stunden Akkulaufzeit erreichen. Neben dieser Innovation soll das Latitude 7490 außerdem auch noch "Active Steering WiFi" bieten, was den WLAN-Empfang nach Dells Angaben um bis zu 155 % verbessert.

Dell bringt das Latitude 7490 noch im Januar 2018 auf den Markt, es kostet als Premium-Laptop mindestens 1049 Dollar in den USA. Deutsche Preise hat Dell noch nicht bekanntgegeben, genauso wenig wie ein Erscheinungsdatum oder Preise für die anderen neuen Latitudes der 7000er-Serie. Da es sich aber nur um Updates der älteren Modelle handelt rechnen wir mit einem zeitnahen Release
